And as I understand it, all of the new stepped bonuses for achieving and holding Platnium for various months up to Q12 (see QBI 08), and the new bonuses for reaching holding Emerald and Diamond as noted are also a result of the IBOAI's directly proposals to Quixtar, along with, as you point out, cirumstances for free shipping. Instead of saying (diplomatically) that these are a result of "collaboration," (while true) you could claim that these changes were INITIATED and DRIVEN by the IBOAI!!! :)

LM

While all of us as consumers want better prices, when you are in business you want profit. Profit is created by having a unique and exclusive feature in the product you are marketing. When a company promotes price as the reason to buy they don't need a salesforce. When was the last time you found a salesperson at walmart? And for those that do work there... How is the pay?

Jonathan James Collier

Thank you for all the work that you do! I know I'm excited about what I we have going now and very excited about the future. I have always trusted the great leadership of Quixtar and the IBOAI.

Tex

These are all positive developments.

Didn't Orrin and the others on the Board "get the memo" about these developments, or did they have ulterior motives all along?

[Moderator: The full Board of Directors, including Orrin Woodward and others, was COMPLETELY briefed on these developments. As to their motives, that's a good question, you'll have to ask them.]

Tex

rdknyvr,

What if these issues were really inititated and driven by Amway/Quixtar?

rdknyvr

Hi Tex, they were proposed and driven by the board, that's a fact, but I think the IBOAI blogger is taking the softer view of sharing credit with Alticor, which isunderstandable. There are improvements still to be confirmed and announced over the next few months (I'm not privy to the details, though). Obviously Alticor didn't consult with the IBOAI on the name change, and I know you and I have different views on that issue. To Quixtar/Alticor's great credit, they are highly commited to change and it is a collaboration with the IBOAI on many points. The Steve Lieberman hire was obviously on their own initiative, and is a great example of moving forward with a whole new era of retail-competitive and profitable products. The "Walmart competitiveness" with mass consumers that TEAM claims was their motivator was and is in fact in the pipeline, but with value and appropriate pricing, not necessarily trying to undercut Walmart.

The challenge for the IBOAI members is that they are unable, due to their confidentiality agreements and interested in further collaboration on change with Alticor, to make the kinds of public claims for credit that would show more clearly to IBOs what they are doing on our behalf. That's my view, anyway.

csr

Hello,

Regarding the name change, will there be information forthcoming from the company as to how to deal with the questions about why we are changing back to Amway, and how we should address past concerns about it?

[Moderator: That's our understanding, yes.]

Hl

I find this information rather misinforming..To simply post information, about are products, being price competetive in a globalmarket that reach far beyond the Us-Canada to be short sighted of what were really trying to accomplish as business owners..From a stand point,of every human being around the world Eats, and Drinks daily..From that perspective I like to go back , and ask about this Simple Nutrilite Program, being marketable to retail customers and the knew artistry products being extremely competetive,in todays marketplace for busy families..If that be the case, why do we have to pin hole people into buying coreline products and getting free shipping..Wouldnt have been fair right across the board to have said anything you purchase above $75,were going to give you free shipping? On to and other issue,of both orrs being in the water. It seemingly interesting, to see postings frequently about the monies being spent for the people and product developement..I thought we were the Educators, of products and did that through word, of mouth..Kind like we did with with XS back in 2004 making it the largest SKU at Quixtar, by dollar sales.and by Largest product SKU at quixtar,by units sold..Oh and Vendor of the Year in 2004.Something tells , me here that its a competetive Product as a reasonable price that people want. Having Said that is it maybe that the average age the current ibo is getting younger, or could it possibly be that the Baby Boomer Generation want to Look and Feel, better, about themselves..The Health and Wellness Industry isnt going away..So Im hoping that will be will, change are way of think from one thats Coroporate, to one thats Refreshing as A Business Owners Dream to the Knewsest Person, getting, in.One and one last point, when you do go out into the field and ask questions,TRY to go below platium, to the knewest person getting ideas, you might get some thought provoking questions that, ones mind might be stretched..

rdknyvr

HI, my sense from the various announcements is that the free shipping over $75 will apply to everything including these new Nutrilite and Artistry line extensions (and much else that will be coming out under Steve Lieberman's leadership), but not Options Catalog products and Partner Stores. No doubt Quixtar will confirm that one way or the other within the next week or two.

Here's a thought -- it would stand to reason that if you have an order that includes at least $75 of "core line" products, that anything else also included in the order might piggy-back for free... a question to be clarified.

Tex

rdknyvr,

How do you know these changes were proposed and driven by the Board?

Hl,

I don't think we know enough to be asking many of these kinds of questions at this time. The information provided has probably been accelerated, given the issues with IBO's formerly known as TEAM.

jthompson

Great News!

Thanks IBOAI board for this message. I don't want to be Walmart! Walmart is great at what they do but they do not change for good the lives of their customers/partners like Amway does.
I saw a lot in the TEAM blogs/forum about wanting to be like Walmart in pricing.... Amway products are absolutely outstanding.... and the price is almost too low in my mind.... b/c the quality/value is significantly better... with the hundreds of patents they have, they will stay higher quality.

Go to Walmart after 10:00pm and see what kind of customers Walmart attracts.

Poor people are consumed with price, cost, discounts, savings,....

Wealthy people are interested in value, investment, quality, and buying experience... and then price/cost.

HL

My question to the affect was why does it have to be just coreline. Having said that let the person ording decide what they want. Whether it be Corline,or Options.Doesnt every Eat in this World were living in. Second a Companies output in the industry is , based on the People in the field and the mering product, that interfaces to the want and need..Xs Energy Drinks do that as well as Meal Replacement Bars, and energy Bars..Than why is it the number one performing product in are model, of business, and furthur more its a revenue generating Partern Store?????Look at the entery level knew IBO entering the Business, and ask yourself this question would you chose,a Daily Suppliment priced a fair market value, or Double-X, and dont give,me the breakdown, or price to price on a daily bases..The knew Ibo,doesnt see that..Ive been in long enough and know the cost per ratio,of the concentration..We should have to explain this to every new person single person. Only a Final not was it the People that Told the Store about XS Energy or the people in the Company.. I think IBOS know how to tell a compelling store about a Brand..That moves people in this Generation..X and Y...

rdknyvr

HL, I'm waiting for them to confirm this too, but my understanding is that XS and bars ARE considered "coreline." The new pricing on the Nutrilite Dailies does make them totally competitive even for people who only look at price, and even thought they do have "more" content/value that anything else in their category. As for Double X, it is in a league of its own, you can't compare it directly to other supplements, although I do agree with you that it is priced at the top end, and I would like them to adjust it down a bit.

Eric

On friday August 10th I read the full complaint filed in CA. The heart of that complaint had to do with pricing. It took 16 days for a posting about pricing to come out. That's pretty quick considering Alticor has been aware of this issue for at least a decade. And you can say all you want about the pricing in the future, and the products in the future, but what about less than 4 percent of all sales being to those outside the network? What about the Jay factor? What about the learning labs results? Tell me all you want about the future, that's easy, but it doesn't address the issue at hand. No where in the complaint did it talk about Quixtar becoming a pyramid, or Quixtar in the future will trap IBO's in with non-compete clauses. It talks about how Quixtar is a pyramid, and that it does trap IBO's in. What about that?
And to Mr. LM,
While there are few sales people at walmart who make very little. How are the waltons doing? Last I heard they are still the richest family in the U.S..

ken shinn

rydknv--Tex and others who supposedly knew what was coming down the pipeline--I read what is in store for this coming year on the q site and it was not competing on core line things folks (not in the British Royal Family) bought on a monthly basis. I have been in for a long time laying out my six months and getting back in this June after losing my downline (many professionals I had to educate in to getting into Amway). (All who had status about the name at one time)The team does it right! You are spinmeisters! Items you have spun-1. rich people want higher priced products, 2. poor people only shop at Walmart 3 . 8 resigned on your board--others praised Woodward on their personal websites (Greg Duncan and Worldwide dreambuilders.

rdknyvr

Eric, lots of us have been posting about price and for a lot longer than since the Complaint. There are pluses and minuses on that... and at the Opportunity Zone they have posted about price from time to time. As for the IBOAI, their Blog has only been underway for just over two weeks...

With appreciation,

Tex

Eric,

Looks like you should go start your own business and see how easy it is to become the richest man in America.

I don't think Quixtar needs to show their cards and debate the lawsuit on a blog.

Besides, they're too busy taking notes from all of the TEAM posts all over the internet that will be used against TEAM in the lawsuit.

pvbvguy

Thanks for the statement about products.

I don't think anyone can beat Walmart at the pricing game. If you want the lowest price on an item; shop Walmart. If you want made in China; shop Walmart.

If you want a quality product, in many cases the best possible product in its class; shop Quixtar. If you want made in America, by American workers; shop Quixtar. If you want to truly interact with someone who will help you with product choices and questions; shop Quixtar. If you want free shipping on $75.00 orders (thank you IBOAI & Quixtar); shop Quixtar. If you want an industry leading satisfaction guarantee on every product; shop Quixtar.

If price were the only issue, everyone would shop at Walmart. Walmart is "the" place people go if your only concern is price. Obviously, price is not the only issue. If it was everyone would drive a Hundai or Saturn type automobile and Lexus would never sell a car.

That said, there is still more that can be done on making sure our pricing is competitive, back orders cease and product mix is improved. However, anyone who can't see that the company is making huge strides in these areas, is not looking.

As Quixtar rolls with the new "first circle" initiative; we as IBO's need to make sure that we take advantage of what we have and actually focus on the merchandising of the product. There is huge progress being made and it is exciting to watch it unfold.

I do believe that some of the people who are complaining the loudest have ulterior motives and that for some; the complaints are a smoke screen.

Keep going IBOAI! I think this whole business is headed in the right direction!

HL

I like to ask a couple of thought prevoking questions to the affects of you keep coming up with this insiler response about the whole price, issue of products, and if you want Wal-Martprices shop there..I think the underlining question, here is make entry level product in Todays Fast Moving LifeStyle Edgy, and Competetive..We seemling dont have problem, doing with the First Circle, or Simply Nutrilite Products as the role out throughtout Sept to Nov. Would it not,be visable to look at the possiblity of making product sizing small, and working with less margnes. I think the base for a great deal of these blogs, on price is on the entry level person, or couple that want to start a home based business.. Dont forget the whole Idea here is a Home Web Based Businesss,vs Store Front. And you make slanted, remark with about the paritculare car one drives.. Let get that right out there, the Big three are getting leveled by the up and coming Supestars of the industry and getting beat at there one game they ve been in for over 50 plus years..Kind of reminded me of a book I read about 2 years ago from Jim Harris Called Blindedsided..Were industries would get leveled if the didnt change there way of doing business, if they didnt adapt to change, and reinvenue themselves over and over..Oh and another issue,I have is with the idea of saying that rich people dont worry about price..Wrong there price conscience at a different level..Just a suggestion brows the book called Millionaire Mind, and that might, put some perspective into, what all these issues are of value..Everyone that, starts a Business for themselves, start at a different level, and so therefore respect what ever level of income is at..

HL: Huh?

Tired of all of this!

I have never questioned the quality of the products. I have never questioned the fact that the concentration of several products make them all worth buying. My concerns are with shipping. We can buy the competitively priced national product while we do our routine shopping and the cost of handling (gas, time, etc...) factored in to every item purchased is still less than paying shipping. This is especially true for the customer. As an IBO, paying discounted prices is a farce unless we buy over 100 PV at a time. I say this because after you adding shipping, you are essentially paying retail, so again why not pick up the competitively priced national brand when you are at the store anyway??

Tex

Tired of all this,

I have questioned the quality of the products, and found it to be outstanding. I have also questioned the fact that the concentration of several products make them all worth buying, and found that it does. Your shipping concerns have been partially addressed, and more good news may be on the way. However, as a business owner, there are some known costs that every business owner must factor into their strategy to make a profit, and it is quite easy to make up for the shipping charges with a couple of retail sales, whether you charge IBO cost and get the PV/BV bonus, or also get some or all of the retail markup.

The same logic has been used by others to explain the tools as well, just sell enough to pay for your tools. If the truth was being told that we need to plan on spending several hundred dollars a month to pay for the uplines' tool system, so they can have the lifestyle they are accustomed to, no problem. But don't be surprised if a lot of the IBO's walk away for being lied to for decades.

Friends and Countrymen... Lend me your Ear! Picture a Chair with 4 legs. Leg 1)Quality. Leg 2)Service. Leg 3)Warranties. Leg 4)Price! In Business today We MUST have all 4 Legs on the Chair! We can no longer try to sell our customers 3 legged chairs and tell them just "Lean real hard" and you won't fall on your Butt! PS.For all of those who think we can establish "Retail Customers" to pay Retail Prices...Tell us the Truth? How's it going? I currently have 36 Registered Customers who can buy at IBO. Prices... 6 Purchase on a Regular basis... Their Two Biggest complaints High Prices and Shipping costs! Joe In Pennsylvania.

PRODUCT COMPARISON: Quixtar w/ Walmart

Walmart does not manufactor Products, they only distribute other MFGs.
Quixtar manufactors and distributes.

You cannont compare Quixtar Exclusive prices with Walmart b/c Quixtar has EXCLUSIVE rights to distribute their PATENTED products (like other mlms).

QUIT COMPARING THE PRICES OF YOUR "GEO METRO" WITH MY "LEXUS".

Non-Broke people also compare value/quality/convenience/customer-service/buying-experience, etc..... with the Price.

Discount dudes, coupon clippers, and on-Sale Shoppers will mostly likely stay in Poverty.

Healthy people don't shop at Walmart for food, they pay for high quality organics at Whole Foods or other health stores
Wealthy people don't buy cheap products a Walmart.

___
Go to Walmart after 10pm if you want to know what Poverty looks like in America.
