IBOs are more than Independent Business men and women. They are also members of the communities in which they live, contributing to the well being of their communities in many ways. Here is just one of the many stories of IBOs giving of themselves to build better lives in the world around them.
“To whom much is given, much is expected,” says Jean Valerio, an IBO from New York who every week serves the homeless of the Bronx with food, drink, and a smile through New York City Relief (NYCR).
Read on our main website about how Jean Valerio and other IBOs are serving soup to serve others, then tell us about how you're supporting your community with action.

How are you helping the needy in your community?

How are food programs in your area helping those most in need?
Wow! That is a great story.
Here in Toronto my 16 yr old daughter (and IBO) has volunteered for a program with her youth group called The Sandwich Run. Lunch bags are filled with sandwiches cookies and juice. Then the volunteers walk the routes of the homeless with group leaders, hand out the food and say hello. The volunteers role is important for starting dialogue and of course the teens are energetic and cheerful which brightens up an otherwise lonely evening for these people and builds trust for the group leaders to continue the dialogue and offer help.
I am proud of my daughter and all of the other great people who give back to the community!
